It is my pleasure to announce the appointment of Mrs. Stephanie Passman Provines to the position of Assistant Principal. Mrs. Provines is a fantastic educator who began her career in Albemarle by student teaching at Hollymead Elementary with Leslie Anderson. Since then she has held many positions through which she has gained experience that will help the Hollymead and its students.
Most recently, Stephanie led a team of middle school teachers through a redesign at Community Lab School, and built a multi-age, middle school program that is completely project-based and student-centered and serves as a model for other schools around our division, state, and country. Previously, Mrs. Provines worked as fourth and fifth grade classroom teacher, empowering learners at Mountain View Elementary and in Phoenix, Arizona. She also has tremendous experience collaborating with teachers, students, and families as a talent development teacher and interventionist at Stony Point Elementary and as a learning technology integrator in Albemarle County. Stephanie is thrilled to return to her elementary education roots!
Outside of school, Stephanie loves going on outdoor hiking and camping adventures with her husband, Jason, and dog, Zoe. She is a diehard UVa basketball fan, is always looking for historical fiction book recommendations, and creates scrapbooks of every life event.
Stephanie will begin at Hollymead this week, and she will get right to work making sure that we have a great start to the 2021-22 school year! Please join me in extending her our warmest Hollymead welcome.
